The Immigration Rapid Response Hotline Virginia Network is issuing pocket-size Rapid Response for Raids cards printed with the phone number (855) 298-3271 (855-AYU-DAR1) in Fairfax County and elsewhere. Ayudar is Spanish for help. "If ICE is at your door, don't open it. Call us for assistance. If you see ICE on the street, maintain distance! Call us to verify what is happening. In all cases, remain silent and don't sign anything." The advocacy group is distributing the cards as their first line of defense to assist immigrant families and individuals who fear potential run-ins with ICE or being targeted by them in their places of work, schools, and worship.

Within the first hours of his second term as president on Monday, January 20, and continuing to the end of the month and into February, the president has issued orders, memos, and proclamations he told everyone he would do if elected.
On his first day in office, the president issued ten executive orders and proclamations signaling to immigrants they are under attack. They impact unlawful migrants, undocumented immigrants, and others; end birthright citizenship, halt processing of asylum seekers and more. He cut off the CBP One smartphone app used by migrants to make appointments with U.S. border patrol agents. Trump reversed guidelines that prohibited immigration raids in areas deemed "sensitive", such as churches, schools, and hospitals and he expanded the power of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to delegate its immigration enforcement duties to state and local police.
The Virginia State Police are assisting ICE now according to The Virginia Daily as reported Jan. 29: “Virginia State Police Sgt. Brent Coffey confirmed Wednesday that his agency was asked to assist ICE agents with an immigration operation Sunday around 1 p.m. in the Happy Creek Knolls neighborhood of Front Royal. Coffey said that state police also assisted with an ICE operation in Page County at 11 a.m. Sunday morning, but could not say whether the two were connected.”
The focus of the Trump-Vance administration is based on four priorities: Make America Safe Again, Make America Affordable and Energy Dominate Again, Drain the Swamp, and Bring Back American Values. Topics include immigration, the economy, the environment, the federal government, foreign policy, health, technology, disaster response, national security, and, as of January 31, aviation oversight and safety.
During the first thirteen days of the president’s terms, actions have been taken by the Trump administration some see as not inclusive of the principles of the United States democracy embedded in the U.S. Bill of Rights—freedom of religion, speech, equal treatment, and due process of law. "That people be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects against unreasonable searches and seizures shall not be violated."-Amendment IV
Judges have halted some of Trump's actions and others face legal challenges for their non-adherence to the Constitution. Nonetheless, as of February 2, this is Donald Trump’s America. Led by a president whose election campaign was funded by the richest man on the planet, Elon Musk. He started a super PAC for Trump and spent “more than $290 million on the 2024 election,” according to CNN Feb.1. Musk is on the elite guard of the Trump team, leading slashing spending cuts as part of the new U.S. Department of Government Efficiency.
This is the American government, “by the people” who voted Trump into office.
“Since Trump handed Musk the keys to our government, it’s been reported that Musk has set up private servers that risk a cybersecurity nightmare, sent out unsanctioned and untrustworthy resignation offers, and locked career officials out of agency systems.
